Music has the power to speak to the heart! Since we all have hearts that thrive on encouragement and that need to be energized – the music at Western Meadow is encouraging and energizing. We want you to get a lift and not a letdown when you come to church! At WMBC our worship service is just that…a time to worship.  We praise and worship our creator, God Almighty.  As we worship together we grow together and experience our God in new and exciting ways.

FAQ's

 How often do you practice?

We get together to practice every Sunday morning at 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to prepare the music for that day and the next Sunday.  Our practice is a great time of learning and worship and fellowship  with one another.

How good do you have to be to play in the band?

Well, let's put it this way…we believe that God deserves the best.  You wouldn't be expected to offer an hour solo concert in order to join the band. However, a good knowledge base of your instrument is important so that you would be able to add to the musicality of the team.

Do I have to be able to read music?

No. You might be surprised to know that about half the people on most worship teams such as ours don't read music.  Many musicians simply read chord letters and some vocalists learn by repetition and ear.

Don't you already have enough people?

The more the merrier!  Now that could make things look a bit different, but change is healthy.  When we quit changing we are dead.  On top of that we all have to be gone occasionally and that is a great time for you to get your feet wet as a substitute.

What if I can't sing?

Well…a voice is an instrument.  The same expectation we have for a musician is for the singer as well.  A capable voice that can be controlled and will definitely add to the worship experience.

What style of music do you play?

We play a variety of styles.  Gospel, pop, ballad, medium rock.  Our song choices are pretty heavily from the last 15 years or so.  However, we do regularly play songs from the early 20th century and occasionally even older.

Do you play "old fashioned" hymns?

Yes we do.  Usually you'll find a hymn or two in our song selection for any given Sunday.  Sometimes you'll recognize it because it is like you've always heard and other times you'll only recognize it from the lyrics.

Do you have auditions?

We do not currently have an audition process in place. If you are interested in playing or singing with the worship team we'd love to hear you and see where it is that you would add the most to the group.

What about a worship choir?

At this time we do not have a worship choir.  Our worship is lead by the worship team.  As we grow and more space is available a worship choir is certainly a possibility and would be a great addition to our worship service.

Do I have to have my own instrument?

If you want to sing, yes; your voice is your instrument.  If you are interested in playing an instrument with the worship team but don't own one we'll do what we can to help secure one for you.

How old do I have to be?

There is not a specific age requirement, it is a very good idea to be in high school or older.  If you are interested in being a part of the worship team come speak to one of us.

We are the WMBC Worship Team and we love God, love to worship Him, love one another and love what we do.  More than anything, we want to see Jesus Christ lifted up and praised.  We want to bring a smile to God's face each and every day.  God Bless You!
